Regency Toyota Launches New Hybrid Centre in Vancouver

Vancouver, BC | October 1, 2018 – Last month, Regency Toyota launched their new Hybrid Centre – a space within the 401 Kingsway dealership that is dedicated to showcasing Toyota hybrid vehicles and hybrid information. The Hybrid Centre was unveiled with a newly designed 12 x 27 ft. hybrid-themed window display, which can be seen from E 12th Avenue and Guelph Street. Robert Frost’s famous lines, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— / I took the one less traveled by / And that has made all the difference,” from his ‘Road Not Taken’ poem, was the inspiration behind the window design.

Evan Chang, Senior Manager of Communications at Regency Auto, stated that Regency Toyota wanted to create an open conversation about hybrid vehicles.

“Regency is passionate about promoting hybrid vehicles, as they provide benefits to both people and the planet,” said Chang. “Hybrids utilize electric driving systems, making them more fuel efficient than gas-powered vehicles. Especially with BC gas prices soaring to an all-time high this year, it’s time to start considering hybrids. Robert Frost’s poem is often interpreted in many different ways. That’s why we chose this poem for the Hybrid Centre. We want people to share their opinions and expand their mindsets to new ideas and solutions. A main theme that I took away from the poem is being open to challenging the status quo. Driving a hybrid can be referred to as taking the road ‘less travelled by,’ which can end up making ‘all the difference.’ It’s time to create a new norm with hybrids.”

Izzam Ahamed, Managing Director of Regency Auto and Susan Sydor, Assistant General Manager of Regency Toyota, worked with Chang to launch the Hybrid Centre.

I’m confident that our Hybrid Centre will inspire and educate others to make informed decisions when it comes to selecting a vehicle that best suits their lifestyles. I think everyone can resonate with the poem’s line, ‘two roads diverged in a wood,’ as it symbolizes having to choose between different paths in life. Different choices lead to different outcomes – just like the realities that comes from choosing between a hybrid and a gas vehicle. Coincidentally, two roads diverge on E 12th Avenue and Kingsway when driving to Regency Toyota from the north-west. Which road will you take to get to our Hybrid Centre?”

Regency Toyota’s hybrid vehicle sales have spiked since the launch of their Hybrid Centre. The dealership’s hybrid lineup currently consists of the 2018 Camry Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Prius c, Prius v, and Prius Prime.
